DRN ReadiTech Announces Launch of Rooted & Rising: A Community Care Program

DRN ReadiTech is pleased to announce the rebranding of our philanthropic initiatives as Rooted & Rising: A Community Care Program. The program brings together the cooperative’s grants, sponsorships, donations, in-kind support, and employee volunteerism under one values-driven initiative serving multiple service areas.

Rooted & Rising is grounded in local values (“rooted”) and designed to create future opportunities (“rising”). The program invests in people, places, and partnerships to help ensure connectivity leads to meaningful quality-of-life improvements.

“As a member-owned cooperative, DRN ReadiTech prides itself on supporting community needs throughout our service areas,” said Kent Schimke, DRN ReadiTech CEO and General Manager.

“Rooted & Rising reflects what we hear from our members and communities: reliable connections are essential, but lasting progress happens when we pair connectivity with opportunity,” Schimke said. “Through this program, we’re committing to support initiatives that expand digital inclusion, strengthen education and workforce pathways, enhance community well-being and safety, and encourage local innovation—so our communities can thrive today and for generations to come.”

DRN ReadiTech’s commitment to giving back is rooted in our cooperative values. By emphasizing concern for community, we aim to continue making a positive difference through initiatives that meet local needs, promote sustainable development, and enhance the well-being of both members and neighbors.

Rooted & Rising will focus on four key pillars:

  • Digital access and inclusion
  • Education and workforce opportunity
  • Community well-being and safety
  • Local innovation and community connection

DRN ReadiTech employees have generously given their time and resources in the communities where they live, raise their families, work, and play. For more than 75 years, the cooperative has supported community projects, school and youth activities, local government, and other nonprofit groups. The Board of Directors also recognizes the importance of giving back—especially to events and programs that impact the communities served. Thousands of dollars have been allocated to local student scholarships and economic development activities throughout the region.

DRN ReadiTech invites programs and nonprofit organizations across our service areas to apply for support through the Rooted & Rising program. Requests may include grants, sponsorships, donations, in-kind support, and employee volunteerism. Applications are reviewed monthly, and we respond to all requests as soon as possible.
